Sinai Temple of Champaign, IL welcomes The Debbie Friedman Experience - a brand new concert that celebrates the life, the music and the legacy of Debbie Friedman.
Beginning in the 1970’s and continuing until her untimely death in 2011, Debbie Friedman created an entirely new genre of Jewish Music – contemporary tunes and different lyrics that would speak to a new generation of Jews. Over the span of a stellar career she produced 22 albums and performed hundreds of live concerts. Her music is now ‘standard’ in many Jewish settings, especially in synagogues throughout the world.
The Debbie Friedman Experience is the creation of David Bravo, who was Debbie Friedman’s Musical Director for 10 years. Singer/performer Shira Kline, a student and protégé of Debbie Friedman’s, is the featured performer along with members of Debbie’s original band.
The Debbie Friedman Experience is a multimedia concert that includes narration, photos and videos.
